The Little Girl Who Changed the World (But Not All At Once)

There was a little girl who changed the world. But not all at once. It was never her intention, to change the world, but still she changed the world in many ways both great and small. She went from place to place, to see what they were like, and once she’d seen them she’d move on. Once she left the place would change. Everywhere she went she changed, everywhere she went was better than it was before.

She’d see the way things were. She’d say the way things were. She’d see the way that things could be. She’d say the way that things could be and then, having seen and said the way things were and seen and said they way that things could be, she’d leave to see another place. The words she said, so simple and so innocent, would break a spell in peoples minds. Suddenly the people there would see the way things were. Suddenly the people there would see the way that things could be and things would change in that place. Things would be better than they were before.

This little girl who changed the world looked at things with children’s eyes. There was no influence of history, of future or of context in the way she saw the world. All she saw was how things were and how those things could be. Everywhere she went was changed, maybe for the first time, maybe for the thousandth. It was never her intention, to change the world with what she said, but still the world was changed in many ways both great and small.

In time I will tell you the stories of how this little girl changed the world. But not all at once.
